What is Automatic lift distance calibration?

Different surfaces result in different lift distance of the mouse. Imagine a user who switches between a cloth mousepad at home and a wooden desk at the office – the two types of material are not equally reflective, which results in the lift distance of any mouse being different on the two types of surface. SteelSeries Xai automatically calibrates to 1mm the first time it is used on a surface, which is the lowest lift distance – and most desired lift distance – among our professional gamers that helped develop this. Lower is better in this case, as the professional gamers don’t want the mouse registering movement when they lift the mouse.
